Hello Hello everyone!
Glad to be back after being MIA for a few months. Gotta do that mommy role. But anywho, while I was away I learned a few easy recipes from close family in New York. This one is a perfect appetizer when having a few drinks with friends.
Here’s one of them.
Open one can (good for 2 people) of Goya chickpeas, use a colander to drain it and rinse under water. Place it in a bowl and now you are ready for seasoning.
In my green seasoning, I blend cilantro (also known as Coriander leaf) celery, oregano, parsley, onion, garlic, and Italian peppers. But you could use any herbs you desire.
Once blended, I season the chickpeas the same way I would do any meat.
One spoon of green seasoning per can is good. Add half a spoon of adobo and stir well.
OPTIONAL: if you like spicy food, add hot pepper sauce to your taste.
Pour the olive oil in the frying pot to heat up well. The hotter it is the better. Use enough oil to cover the chickpeas but not deep fry it.
Add the chickpeas and stir every so often.
It will take about 12 to 15 minutes or when you notice the chickpeas get a golden color.
And that’s it! Easy right?
Hope you enjoy making this quick & tasty chickpeas appetizer.
